I am enjoying interviewing professionals and small biz bosses about their line of work or their side hustles, especially those that can benefit moms. This post contains sponsored links.
Today I am sharing an interview with Tyler Alverson of Kollectin, which is a new fashion startup.
Tell us a little about yourself and your business. Why did you select it and how did you get started?
We set out with a goal – to reinvent fashion retail for the age of social media. Our vision is simple: to create a social application where contemporary designers can continue to thrive and be discovered, with the support of individual influence. A place where fashion matters, especially to those who love its diversity of expressions. And a place where women can flaunt their individuality and style through running the world’s tiniest boutiques.
Describe what you do and what you sell for those of us not familiar with your line of work or product.
We partner with women who love fashion, consider themselves style leaders, and want to make money doing something they’re passionate about. As a Tiny Boutique Owner, you have the power of how you run and market your boutique. And all of it can be done from your phone! Every month you’re able to select your inventory from a variety of designers and styles, and once your product is received, you would take quality photos and upload them to your boutique, and can either send the product back and solely market for virtual sales (receiving 50% commission), or you can choose to try and sell the product physically. If you choose to sell physically or decide to keep any of the product for yourself, it’s yours at wholesale value!
What are some of your favorite things about what you do?
Bringing fashion and shopping opportunities to women that are fun and sociable.
What are some challenges of this business?
With being a fresh startup, it’s challenging to get the word spread as fast as we want, but we’re in this for the long run and know we’ve got something great.
For someone interested in what you do, can you share what to expect as far as earning potential and effort?
There is a no cost, no risk, no subscription to our company. Earning potential can vary depending on the amount of work one can or wants to put into their boutique. As long as we have the inventory available and you are great at marketing your boutique, there’s no telling how much you could earn from just one photo you upload.
What does it take for someone to get started with their own side hustle in your line of work?
Download our app KOLLECTIN. Kollectin is an “invite only” app and you must have a code to be able to join. Each person who runs their own boutique has an invite code that they share with their friends, family, and shoppers. For every person you get to sign in with your code, you receive a bonus. If you’d like to personally download and explore the app now, use invite code BOUTIQUE.
