Side-Hustle Series: Interview with Full Life Cube founder and author Teresa Dumadag

April 18, 2018 by Julie Leave a Comment

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe and join the tribe. Thanks for visiting!

I am enjoying interviewing professionals and mom bosses about their line of work or their side hustles. Today I am sharing an interview with Ms. Teresa’s Dumadag who is a coach for working moms! She is launching her book, From Career Woman to SAHM, WAHM then Businessmom: Lessons from My Transitions which is FREE on April 18-19, 2018.

From Career Woman to SAHM, WAHM then Businessmom: Lessons from My Transitions
Through this book project, Ms. Teresa’s Dumadag aims to inspire and help mothers who are considering to make a career transition but are afraid or feel trapped in their full-time jobs.

Tell us a little about yourself and your business. Why did you select it and how did you get started?

Hi! I’m Teresa. I’m the President and Founder of www.fulllifecube.com, through which I inspire and equip my clients to succeed in their businesses/careers while living out their priorities and purpose through my services as a Speaker, Consultant (for management, human resources and training solutions), Career and Parenting Coach, Counselor and Writer. I’m an author, freelance editor and writer for various print and online publications.

I chose this business because I had been doing full-time HR work for a decade and I felt that I’m ready to do it on my own. I simply informed my former colleagues, friends and relatives that I’m starting my own consulting business and that if they need anything related to training or HR, they can get in touch with me. My first clients were my former employers, colleagues and relatives. Then, by word-of-mouth advertising from my satisfied clients, my network of clients grew.

As for my publishing business, it has been one of my childhood dreams to write and publish a book. I was asked to head a book project for a ministry when I was still single. After successfully publishing that book, I felt that I can publish my own book and I did. From then on, I had been publishing books about my experiences. Just this month, I published my fifth book on Amazon titled  From Career Woman to SAHM, WAHM then Businessmom: Lessons from My Transitions. We will have our virtual launch of this book on April 18-19 wherein it can be downloaded for free.

Describe what you do and what you sell for those of us not familiar with your line of work or product.

Aside from speaking in live events like seminars, training and workshops, I coach individuals who want to improve their performance at work, get clarity on what they want to achieve in their career/business, achieve their goals or become better parents. I have coaching packages for these. I do this via Skype or in person if the client lives near my place. I also have an online coaching program called iHOPE. This is a coaching program that parents can take anytime and anywhere as long as they have an internet connection. In this coaching program, I help parents become more hands-on with their children while contributing to the family income.

I also sell my books and other merchandise related to my books on my website and in my events.

On top of that, I help companies develop or improve their policies and company handbook. I help them establish HR systems or improve their existing ones. I also help them come up with or improve their employee programs.

How does a reader interested in your goods or services shop from you? How does your biz help the consumer?

They can go to my websites. My books, the merchandise related to my books and my iHOPE online coaching program for parents can be found at http://www.handsonparentwhileearning.com/shop/. They can find my coaching packages and the list of training programs and workshops that I run for corporate clients on my website http://www.fulllifecube.com/. My training programs and workshops help companies achieve their goals and improve their people’s performance and attitude.

My books, coaching, talks and online program help parents strengthen their relationship with their children, improve their parenting and manage their time better. These also inspire and equip parents to become more hands-on with their children while pursuing their career or business goals.

What are some of your favorite things about what you do?

I love meeting people and making a difference in people’s lives through my books, coaching and live events. I love signing copies of my books and receiving feedback from my readers of how my books inspired and helped them.

What are some challenges of this business?

One challenge is finding the time to finish my books and my programs while being hands-on with my kids. I need to be creative and disciplined to ensure that I am at the very least moving forward in achieving my goals. Another challenge is sticking to my priorities because I can really get busy. I need to remind myself of my priorities so I can make wise decisions every time. Lastly, finding the right clients is an ongoing challenge.

For someone interested in what you do, can you share what to expect as far as earning potential and effort?

There is a big earning potential for this kind of business. But you also need to find the right clients and price your programs and services correctly so that your price is not too low or too high for your market.

What does it take for someone to get started with their own side hustle?

Courage and faith. It takes courage to start something. It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone and be true to yourself. It takes courage to pursue your passion and start your own business based on it. It takes a lot of faith that you have what it takes to make your dreams come true or to achieve your goals. You need to have faith that things will turn out fine and that your hard work will eventually bear fruit.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your business?

I’d like to invite your readers to download a free copy of my latest book  From Career Woman to SAHM, WAHM then Businessmom on Amazon on April 18 -19. Through this book, I encourage mothers to dream big and to have the courage to pursue their passions by working on something they love or by starting their own business. I hope that this book would inspire and equip mothers to achieve their goal of being hands-on with their kids while successful in their career or business.
