Side-Hustle Series: Interview with Mommy Home Manager

July 17, 2017 by Julie 1 Comment

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe and join the tribe. Thanks for visiting!

I am enjoying interviewing professionals about their line of work or their side hustles. Today I am sharing an interview with Lexie of Mommy Home Manager.

Side-Hustle Series: Interview with Mommy Home Manager

Tell us a little about yourself and your business. Why did you select it and how did you get started?

My husband and I are partners in a direct sales wine company (Direct Cellars).

Our club members sign up for a subscription through our website. They chose either red wine, white wine, or both and if they want 2 bottles or 4 bottles. Then expertly chosen, craft wine is delivered straight to their home once per month. Each delivery includes tasting notes and a food pairing guide for the wine.

We saw that a friend of ours from college was a business member with his wife, and we loved the idea so much that we decided to join! We are wine lovers and the idea of getting free wine delivered right to our door and even making some extra income from it sounded too great to pass up.

What are some of your favorite things about what you do?

I love the social aspect of tasting and learning about new wines with friends. We are giving our customers the opportunity to have this experience right in their own homes. It’s a great concept for new parents that have an easier time socializing at home than taking adult outings. It’s also a really great company for stay at home or work from home moms since you can do all of your sales online or on the phone. What mom couldn’t use more wine?? 🙂

What are some challenges of this business?

The hardest part is just letting people know without being annoying! I want to tell everyone that I know how great this opportunity is… but that just drives people away from direct sales companies.

For someone interested in what you do, can you share what to expect as far as earning potential and effort?

The nice thing about this company is that it is only direct deliveries – you don’t have inventory, you don’t collect orders, you just refer people. Since you are selling subscriptions, you make residual income from every purchase that your customers make. That means that if you sign up a customer, you get paid for their order every month without having to do any additional work! Some people do it just for the free wine and others are making 6 figures just part time. You can put in as little or as much effort as you want, and your success is up to what you put in.

What does it take for someone to get started with their own side hustle in your line of work?

Joining in is so easy! It just takes a small monetary investment, a small time investment, and a lot of enthusiasm to get started. If you are looking for more information about how to get started, check out mommyhomemanager.com.
I’ll also let you know right now that you don’t have to join our team to get free wine! Our monthly customers can get free wine too. All that you have to do is refer three friends and your monthly membership is free as long as those three people are enrolled.

Anything else you would like to tell us about your business?

Whether you are looking for free wine or a full-time income, let me connect you with people who can help you get there. If you are willing to work for our team, we are willing to work for you!
