Decorate for Christmas
Christmas is right around the corner. If you’re like most people, you’re probably already thinking about how to decorate your home for the holidays.
If you need some inspiration, here are a few ideas:
-String up some lights. Nothing says “Christmas” quite like a string of lights. You can wrap them around your tree, your porch, or even your windows.
-Hang some wreaths. Wreaths are a classic Christmas decoration, and they can really add some holiday cheer to your home.
-Put up a tree. Of course, no Christmas decorating would be complete without a tree.
Decorating is a perfect item for your winter bucket list for toddlers.
Shop local and small
When you shop small and local, you help to create jobs in your community and support your neighbors. Here are some great reasons to shop small this winter:
Small businesses give back more to the community. They sponsor little league teams, donate to food banks, and support other local causes.
Shopping locally reduces your carbon footprint. The further away goods have to travel, the more pollution is generated from transportation.
You can find unique items at local shops that you won’t find anywhere else. Small businesses are often able to offer products that are made locally or hard-to-find items that aren’t carried by big box stores.
Take a trip to the snow if you don’t live where it snows
Looking for a winter getaway? Then head to the snow! There are plenty of fun winter activities to keep you entertained. Here’s a list of some of our favorites:
Snowboarding or skiing – both are great ways to get outside and enjoy the cold weather.
Building a snowman – a classic winter activity that’s perfect for kids and adults alike.
Having a snowball fight – another fun activity that’s sure to get you laughing.
Sledding – a must-do when you’re in the snow.
If it does snow by you: go sledding
One of the best things to do when the weather outside is frightful is to go sledding. There are a few things you need to keep in mind when sledding, though. Dress warmly – it’s important to stay warm and dry when you’re out in the cold weather. Choose a good sledding hill – a hill that’s too steep can be dangerous, so make sure you pick one that’s just right for your skill level. I bet your kids will love this so much that it must be on the winter bucket list for toddlers.
Go ice skating
Ice skating is a great winter activity for people of all ages. It’s a fun way to get out and enjoy the cold weather, and it’s also a great exercise.
There are many different places to go ice skating in the winter. Some people like to skate at outdoor rinks, while others prefer indoor rinks. There are also many frozen lakes and ponds that are perfect for ice skating.
Build a snowman
There’s something about building a snowman that just screams wintertime fun. Maybe it’s the cool, crisp air. Maybe it’s the endless possibilities for customization. Whatever the reason, building a snowman is a cherished winter activity for people of all ages. If you’re looking for some winter fun, why not try building a snowman? Here are a few tips to get you started:
Find the perfect spot. Look for an open area where the snow is packed tight. Avoid areas with too much powder or too much ice.
Gather your materials. You’ll need three medium-sized balls of packed snow, some sticks for arms, and any other decorations you want to use (carrot for the nose, stones for eyes, buttons, scarf, hat, etc.).
Building a snowman is a great activity for people of all ages. It’s a perfect way to spend some time outdoors and enjoy the winter weather.
If it doesn’t snow near you, make a sensory snowman with fake snow instead.
Snowball fight
A snowball fight may seem like a child’s game, but it can actually be a lot of fun for adults too. Here are some tips to make your next snowball fight the best one yet. Choose your battlefield wisely. You’ll want a location that has enough space for everyone to move around, but is also sheltered from the wind. Take advantage of natural obstacles by using them as cover from enemy fire. Trees, bushes, and cars all make great barriers! Arm yourself with plenty of snowballs! The more you have, the longer the fight can last.
