How to Keep Things Simple in Your Biz So You Can Finally Ditch the Overwhelm

July 16, 2025 by Julie Leave a Comment

If you’re struggling with overwhelm right now, feeling stressed with everything you think you need to do to build a successful business, this is for you.

The thing is that overwhelm is such a big topic as it can take over your business and personal life if you’re not careful.

How Overwhelm appears in your business

And when you’re struggling with overwhelm right now, it is so easy to start procrastinating and do absolutely anything EXCEPT what you should be doing – cleaning, doom scrolling on social media, designing cute images on Canva, putting some washing on or any other task you do when you procrastinate!

You might avoid doing tasks altogether as it’s just too much to do.
You might procrastinate and do other things instead of what you should be doing.
You might be self sabotaging yourself as you think you may fail – what’s the point in launching that new product, nobody will buy it!!
You may feel so stressed that you can’t even think of what tasks you actually need to be doing to grow your business.
You’re being busy but not productive

What to do when the Overwhelm Kicks in?

When the overwhelm and stress kick in, the self doubt gets into your head then the best thing you can do is to SIMPLIFY & FOCUS.

That’s it, nothing else.

SIMPLIFY – your marketing, systems and operations.

FOCUS – on only the most important tasks.

Ignore everything and everyone else.

How to start dealing with overwhelm

So how can you still be productive? How do you know what you should be doing when you don’t have any clarity on where to even start?

Isn’t it so much easier to just get something done, even if it’s not important?

One thing I always get my clients to do when they are struggling with overwhelm and starting to procrastinate is to take a few minutes to sit down with a notebook and do a Brain Dump.

Get all the ideas and tasks you’ve got in your head and write them down so that you now have a task list.

You then need to prioritize that list so that you now know what tasks you should be doing to build a successful and profitable business.

So ask yourself does this task bring money into the business or move you closer to achieving your goals. These are the tasks that you need to be working through when you don’t know what to do.

Emma Walker is a Business Coach supporting women wanting to build an online business.

Her core mission is to SIMPLIFY, FOCUS, SUCCEED by giving women the tools and knowledge they need to build their dream business.

She helps them to stop letting overwhelm take over their life and business. Instead, they learn how to ditch the overwhelm and simplify their marketing to gain the clarity they need to build their business the easy way.

She’s also a home schooling mum (since 2016) so knows what it’s like to have lots of demand on her time.

Emma is offering a freebie for my readers:
