That’s why it’s important to remain professional when picking out your coworker’s gift. Don’t buy anything that could give off the wrong impression or aren’t appropriate for the office environment.

Remember to only give gifts when it’s appropriate. Birthdays and around holidays are the perfect time to do so. Avoid giving any gifts around performance reviews, as this may give off the wrong kind of message.
