What to Wear Working from Home

Did you know that what you wear can have a dramatic effect on your productivity? Especially in these times when most of us have been forced to work from home for unknown periods of time.

In the first weeks of the pandemic, working from home seemed like a relief. You didn’t have to spend an eternity looking for the perfect outfit to wear to work that day or even apply makeup.

But, dressing up does have its perks. The perfect outfit can make you feel comfortable and boost your mood, thus making you more productive. If you need help deciding what to wear on your office days at home, check out some of the best WFH outfits for productivity.
The Best Work From Home Outfits Components

Ideal Components for Work from Home Outfits that will Boost your Productivity and Work Output:

Try Casual Clothing

Let’s face it, dressing up in your pajamas while working from home sounds tempting, right? After all, your boss doesn’t mind, as long as you get the work done, and you don’t have anyone to impress.

Despite being a comfortable go-to choice for many women out there, working in your pj’s can have a negative effect on your production. At times, you might find yourself feeling lazy, sluggish, or not really up to the task.

So, why not switch it up a bit? Take off those pajamas and throw on a casual outfit. It could be the clothes you wear on your days off or on weekends. A pair of lounge pants, coupled with a nice top, can be a good idea. And since you’re home, there’s no limit to what you can wear.

You can even put on your favorite leggings with a stylish sweater. The bottom line is, go with whatever makes you feel comfortable, but forget pajamas!

Sleeveless Tops

When working from home, you do still want to stay comfortable. You might even want to mimic your office dress code to stay productive. But, that doesn’t mean that you have to follow it to the letter.

Sleeveless tops are a perfect substitute for office wear. They are perfect for warm weather, and when coupled with a pair of nice pants or a skirt, they can give you a not-so-serious office look and leave you feeling comfortable while you’re at it.

Layer up!

Layering your clothing might not seem office-like, but heck, you’re at home. So layering up your clothing is not only practical but also very comfortable.

Try layering a cardigan sweater or a flannel shirt on top of a tank top or tee shirt. Then, mix it up with a nice, comfortable pair of jeans, and you’re good to go. And the best part about this outfit is that whenever it gets hot or cold, all you have to do is add a layer or peel it off.

Button Downs

Button downs are some of the most versatile pieces of clothing out there. They are a great add-on to layering. But, they can also give you that polished, professional look that blends into corporate fashion. This makes them perfect for online corporate meetings.

Button downs go with everything. So, it all depends on what you prefer. For example, you can pair a patented button-down with a pencil skirt. You can also pair button-downs with lounge pants, sweats, or blue jeans.

Pair of Jeans and a Tee-Shirt

Working from home gives you an unmatched level of freedom, meaning you can put on anything you want. Most office cultures have a polished, professional look. So, if you’ve never had the chance to experience the luxury of business casual or just casual, here’s your chance.

A nice tee shirt, coupled with a pair of jeans, does wonders to keep you comfortable and feeling professional. And if you want to take a zoom call or attend an online corporate meeting, all you have to do is throw on a button-down, and you’re good to go.

The Bottom Line

The clothes you wear define you. Unfortunately, working from the office doesn’t give you a lot of options to express yourself. So, why don’t you take advantage of this period and experiment with everything that makes you feel comfortable? You never know; the right outfit could double your production.
