5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in a Jogging Stroller

5 Reasons Why You Should Invest in a Jogging Stroller

guestpost

Parents tend to look for single strollers – lightweight or umbrella – the first time they purchase a stroller. There are many reasons for this; the two most common ones pertain to the fact that they have a single child (at the time of shopping for a stroller) as well as cost. Lightweight strollers and umbrella strollers are generally much cheaper than other “specialized” strollers such as jogging and all-terrain strollers. In general, lightweight and umbrella strollers can run anywhere between $70 and $200, with the higher-priced product typically offering many different convenient features.  On the other hand, “specialized” strollers such as jogging strollers run anywhere between $250 and $650. Definitely a big difference in pricing!

For me, I purchased a double jogging stroller not too long ago, and I must say that the benefits far outweigh the cons. In other words, what we, as a family have gained has made it well worth the price we paid for it. In this post, I will go over five reasons as to why I believe investing in a jogging stroller is worth it.

But first off, what is a jogging stroller? A jogging stroller is basically a stroller that you can jog with. Jogging strollers come in single, double, or triple strollers, which refer to the number of kids you can carry on the stroller. While most jogging strollers nowadays are car seat compatible (meaning they can be used to carry newborns), it is only recommended to jog with your kid(s) in a stroller once they’re approximately six months old. The reason for this is that before six months old, children do not yet have the muscles required to keep their neck and head up. It is also worthy to mention that jogging strollers are NOT the same as all-terrain strollers. Although they look the same, all-terrain strollers were not designed to be used for jogging activities, but rather, they are able to go over many different types of terrains.

5 Reasons You Should Invest in a Jogging Stroller

Now that you have an idea of what a jogging stroller is, here are my five reasons as to why I don’t regret investing in a jogging (or double jogging) stroller:

It Provides a Means to Get Healthy

For working moms (and dads), it is often challenging to find the time to get some exercise or workout during the weekday. For me, I used to get so tired after coming back from work that I really just wanted to spend time with my kids. It was not until when we got our double jogging stroller that I broke this routine. Nowadays, I always look forward to my jogging sessions with the kids after work. In fact, I feel so great afterward that I am in the process of incorporating these jogging sessions into my routine every day! This has not only helped me cleared my thoughts but at the same time, relieve stress!

Go on Adventures with Your Kids

Jogging strollers are the perfect baby product to help you go on adventures with your kids. Ever since we purchased our double jogging stroller, we have found ourselves to be exploring the outdoors more often. Whether it’s just a jog around the neighborhood or a hike in a park, it’s always fun to explore with our kids. It also helps the kids to enjoy nature more!

Jogging Strollers are Versatile

One thing I really like about jogging strollers is the fact that they’re really all-terrain strollers with the capability for you to jog. In other words, jogging strollers are able to navigate easily through many different terrains – even or uneven. What’s also nice is that almost all jogging strollers come with a suspension system which makes it comfortable for your kids even if you stroll through uneven terrain or potholes.

Positive Influence on Your Kids

As technology continues to become a large part of our lives, it is important to set good examples for your kids to ensure that they do not become addicted to electronic devices. This is far too common among kids and teens nowadays! For me, this means spending more time with my kids doing activities that don’t include electronic devices, one of which is jogging with my kids!

Good Resale Value

Jogging strollers have a much better resale value than other everyday use strollers. This means that when you decide you no longer have a need for your stroller, you can easily sell it used for at least 50% of what you paid for. This, of course, depends on the condition of the stroller.

Closing Words

And there you have it; those were some of my top reasons why I think it’s worth investing in a jogging stroller. If you found this article to be useful, please share it! That’s what I ended up getting! I had actually registered for it originally and then changed my mind and got the one that’s a step down instead since I knew I wouldn’t be jogging right away, so now I’ve got like three strollers that are compatible with our car seat, AH! I see what you mean about the shade now – but it is WAAAAAY better than the evenflo one!

Before we had the twins my husband and I would go on nightly walks with our son in the jogging stroller. I kind of miss that now. I think it might be time to get back out there. Thanks for this great info! 🙂
