10 rules for happy motherhood

guestpost

With all its glory, motherhood still has its fair share of challenges. It’s easy to lose your temper, given the nature of the role, which can sometimes be overwhelming. It’s not a walk in the park raising kids, keeping your sanity in check, looking great, feeling great, and really just having it all together. And if you’re a single mom, trying to have a private life, too, and finding that special someone on the best dating sites adds a lot to your busy schedule. But not all is lost. We’ll share some simple rules with you to help reclaim your sanity, happiness, and zest for life while enjoying happy motherhood.

Have Fun

In the midst of all your responsibilities, having fun is a sure-fire way of bringing back balance into your life. So, let loose and have fun.

Ask for Help

Most moms struggle to ask other people for help. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help when you’re overwhelmed.

Spend Time with Your Mom Tribe

No one understands what it’s like being a mom better than fellow moms. When it comes to motherhood matters, your mom tribe will understand you better and offer support.

Find Time for Yourself

It’s hard to find some ‘me-time’ if you are a mom, but it’s not an impossible task. So, do your best to have some self-care time.

Pick Your Battles

This means compromising to make things easier for all of you. Even if it means letting your child watch more cartoons to finally get some time alone, so be it.

Go Outside

There is nothing like the air outside. Go hiking or jogging. Stop and take a deep breath. There’s something relaxing and rejuvenating about being outside. And you don’t have to do it alone. You can take your kids with you on a nature walk, so you can all reap the amazing benefits.

Do Not Abandon Your Friends

Your friends that were there before your little ones came along shouldn’t disappear from your life. It’s crucial to communicate with people, which remember what you were like before the babies. They will remind you of your true identity beyond being a mother.

Don’t Be the Judgy Mom

Don’t judge other moms just to make you feel better or in an attempt to be helpful. Judgments and unrequested tips are neither pleasant nor helpful. Save your time on comparing yourself with others.

Get Lots of Sleep

Most moms complain about never getting enough sleep. Focusing more on getting a good night’s rest will benefit your health and mood, though your kids will get more positive attention from you.

Remember, No Mom is Perfect

Perfection is a myth. While you may feel as though you suck at parenting, as long as you adore your kids, they are well-fed, happy, and you’re there for them physically and mentally, don’t beat yourself up.
